For the dressing
Juice of ½ an organic lemon
1⁄4 cup Natural Grocers® Brand Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tablespoons Natural Grocers Brand Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Natural Grocers Brand Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
1-inch knob of organic ginger, (about 1 tablespoon roughly chopped)
1 small knob organic turmeric, (about 2 teaspoons roughly chopped); or ½ teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Ground Turmeric
2 teaspoons Natural Grocers Brand Organic Grade A Dark Maple Syrup
1 tablespoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Chia Seeds
1⁄2 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Real Salt
For the salad
2 cups chopped organic kale
1 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Real Salt, to taste
1 (5-ounce) package organic mixed or baby greens of your choice
1 medium organic carrot, shredded
1 cup organic broccoli sprouts, rinsed
1 1⁄2 cups organic berries of your choice
1⁄2 cup Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Roasted and Salted Sunflower Seeds
1 organic avocado, chopped

1. Blend all of the dressing ingredients, except the chia seeds, in a blender or with an immersion blender until smooth. Taste and adjust salt and maple syrup as desired. Stir in the chia seeds and set aside.

2. Combine the kale, olive oil, and a generous pinch of salt in a large bowl. Use your hands to massage the kale thoroughly until the leaves have softened and are a shade darker. Add the greens, carrot, and sprouts. Toss the salad with about half of the dressing. Gently stir in the berries, sunflower seeds, and avocado before serving; alternatively, plate the salad mixture and top each serving with the berries, sunflower seeds, and avocado. Serve extra dressing on the side.
