Rodale Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to growing the regenerative organic agriculture movement through rigorous research, farmer training, and education. Its groundbreaking science and direct farmer-support programs serve as a catalyst for change in farming and food production worldwide. Over their 77-year history, they have proven that organic farming is not only viable, but essential to humanity’s survival. Natural Grocers is proud to support Rodale Institute and nurture the next generation of regenerative organic farmers through the Rodale Institute Farmer Training Program!
UCHealth, a network of nationally recognized hospitals, clinic locations, and health care providers throughout CO, southern WY, and western NE is encouraging Coloradans to improve their health with Ready. Set. CO. This campaign is a wide-ranging effort to reclaim Colorado’s rightful place as the healthiest state in the nation by offering free resources on healthy eating, fitness and fun, mental wellness, and health care tips.
Beyond Pesticides is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., which works with allies in protecting public health and the environment to lead the transition to a world free of toxic pesticides. They seek to protect healthy air, water, land, and food for ourselves and future generations. By forging ties with local governments, nonprofits, and people who rely on these natural resources, they eliminate the unnecessary pesticide use and advance organic land management to ensure a livable future.
Fighting food insecurity is part of Natural Grocers' "Commitment to Community." Each time a customer brings their own bag while shopping at one of our stores, we donate five cents per shopping trip to our local food bank partner. To date, we have donated over $1.5 million dollars to local food banks (and prevented an estimated 550 million bags from ending up in landfills). We also work with local food banks and a wide variety of non-profit organizations to support community food rescue efforts and additional fundraising and food donation campaigns during the holidays.
Project Angel Heart was founded more than 30 years ago to address a major challenge for Coloradans who are severely ill: getting the nutrition they need to get stronger, heal, and remain at home. That’s why Project Angel Heart prepares and delivers medically tailored meals to people living with severe illnesses. Each week, their professional chefs and registered dietitians prepare thousands of delicious meals from scratch, and tailor them to meet the specific medical and dietary needs of those who are ill. Volunteers help them package and deliver each meal at no cost to their clients.
Natural Grocers Cycling has been a living, pedaling extension of our founding principles since 1987. The squad has a broad range of riders, encompassing all disciplines of cycling. With over 100 members, you'll spot these riders on the trails, the roads, volunteering at events and, of course, at Natural Grocers stores all around the country to support healthy living on and off the bike. Natural Grocers Cycling is interested in growing the cycling communities in which they operate. They have chapters in Denver, Grand Junction, Durango, Tucson, and Kansas City and are also growing in Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Texas, and West Virginia.
