Cauliflower Rice, 5 Ways Recipe

Replacing white rice with fiber-rich cauliflower rice is a great way to increase nutrition while reducing calories and carbohydrates in your meal. Here are five different ways to “spice up” frozen riced cauliflower with our bulk department signature blends for a quick, easy, healthy, and delicious side dish!

1 (10-ounce) bag frozen riced cauliflower
1 tablespoon Natural Grocers® Brand Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Real Salt
1⁄4 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Ground Black Pepper

Mexican Spiced Cauliflower Rice
1-2 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Taco Seasoning Blend
- Serving idea: Makes a great addition as a side to any Mexican meal and is delicious added to tacos!
- Optional toppings: minced organic cilantro and a squeeze of organic lime juice, chopped organic jalapeños, organic salsa, chopped organic tomatoes
Curried Cauliflower Rice
1 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Curry Powder
- Serving idea: This makes a great base for any protein (think grilled chicken curry bowl); it also adds a spicy kick. When making this rice, substitute ghee or Natural Grocers Brand Organic Coconut Oil for the olive oil.
- Optional toppings: minced organic cilantro, Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Red Chili Flakes, minced organic parsley, squeeze of organic lemon juice
Cajun Spiced Cauliflower Rice
1/2 - 1 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Cajun Seasoning Blend
- Serving idea: Turn it into a meal by adding kielbasa or other sausage and or shrimp. May also add a tablespoon of organic tomato paste while cooking for added color and flavor.
- Optional toppings: thinly sliced organic scallions or diced organic onions, diced organic peppers, squeeze of organic lemon juice
French Herbed Cauliflower Rice
2 teaspoons Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Herbes de Provence Blend
- Serving idea: Pairs deliciously with roasted chicken and/or roasted vegetables. May substitute organic butter or Natural Grocers Organic Plant-Based Buttery Sticks for the olive oil.
- Optional toppings: minced organic parsley
Italian Herb Cauliflower Rice
1 tablespoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Italian Seasoning Blend
- Serving idea: Try it with one of Natural Grocers Brand Wild Caught Frozen Prepared Seafood entrées.
- Optional toppings: minced organic Italian parsley, squeeze of organic lemon juice
- Other Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Seasoning Blend ideas: Lemon-Pepper Blend, Five-Spice Blend, Garlic and Herb Blend

1. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Place frozen cauliflower into the dry skillet, breaking up any clumps and spreading it out as much as possible for maximum surface area.

2. Stir the frozen cauliflower while allowing the moisture to release until cauliflower is hot and dry, approximately 5-6 minutes. Remove all moisture but do not allow the cauliflower to burn—when all the moisture is gone the cauliflower will have a neutral, non-cauliflower odor.

3. Once the cauliflower is hot and dry, turn off the heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil (or oil of choice) to the pan and stir. Immediately add the salt, pepper, and spice blend of your choice, stirring to coat all the cauliflower. Serve immediately.
