Brining your turkey may sound a bit intimidating if you’ve never done it, but this method is super easy, and the outcome is a deliciously seasoned turkey; brining ahead of time will also make Thanksgiving Day more relaxed, which is always a win in our book! The roasting method starts the turkey at a high temperature to brown the skin and sear in the juices then reduces the temperature for the remaining cook time, creating a moist, juicy, flavorful turkey. Follow the recipe exactly and you will not be disappointed!
Thanksgiving is THE best time to let the side dishes shine, and these caramelized sweet potatoes do just that. The natural sweetness of the potatoes is enhanced by slow roasting them with melted butter infused with the sweet-earthy flavors of Natural Grocers® Organic Five-Spice Blend Powder. A crunchy pecan topping and sprinkling of fresh organic thyme finish it off for a perfectly delicious side dish.
Stuffed squash is the epitome of hearty, wholesome comfort—ideal for a cozy weeknight dinner or a flavorful addition to your holiday table. This recipe embraces the rich, seasonal taste of roasted butternut squash, perfectly complemented by a savory stuffing of Italian sausage, toasted pecans, sweet-tart cranberries, and fresh spinach. It’s the perfect balance between indulgence and nourishment, offering a warm, satisfying meal that feels both festive and good4u.
This delightful medley combines the zesty brightness of citrus fruits, the subtle anise flavor of fennel, and the creamy richness of avocado, all nestled atop a bed of fresh greens. To add a satisfying crunch and a touch of sweetness, we’ve adorned this salad with toasted almond slices and tangy dried cranberries. Perfect as a light lunch or a stunning side dish for any celebration, this salad is not only a feast for the eyes, but also a burst of flavors and textures that will leave you craving more.
Candied oranges sit atop this delectably light tea cake inspired by Italian polenta cake. Rather than the finely ground polenta that is traditionally used in Italy, we sub cornmeal, which is similar in texture and more widely available in the States. Our version is also gluten free and refined sugar free, making a lightly sweetened tea cake that is better for you. If you prefer a little more sweetness, simply add the syrup in step seven.
We took inspiration from traditional Spanish paella for our vegan version featuring mixed mushrooms. Typically made with saffron-infused rice and a mix of meat and/or seafood, our vegan version relies on mushrooms for their meaty umami flavor and uses the more widely available arborio rice instead of traditional bomba rice. We’ve left out the saffron, but feel free to add it along with the paprika! Although the recipe is not authentic paella, it is incredibly flavorful and delicious and feels special to serve for family or guests.
Looking for a spooky Halloween treat everyone can enjoy? These fun gluten-free brownies are sure to please and they are simple to make using Natural Grocers® Brand Gluten-Free Fudge Brownie Mix. They are thinner than regular brownies, making them go farther to feed a crowd and giving you lots of room for spooky decorations.
When life gets busy, one-pan meals make it a litte easier. This skillet meal comes together seamlessly—in you guessed it, one pan—and is loaded with flavors and textures that everyone will love. Try this Cheesy Black Bean and Beef Skillet on a busy weeknight for a meal that comes together quickly, and tastes delicious!
Ounce for ounce, herbs and spices are some of the most nutrient dense foods we have, and Indian food really exemplifies how to put these flavorful, health-promoting foods to good use. This curry, inspired by Indian butter chicken, is quick and easy to put together. Feel free to omit the spices and butter to prepare plain basmati rice or sub your favorite brown rice for the white basmati for some extra fiber and nutrients, just remember to start it early since it will take longer to cook.
