Letter From the Iselys - June 2024

Dear Neighbors,

Are you as delighted to see June as we are? These balmy, flower-scented days make us feel like anything good is possible. Speaking of good things, we have all the supplies in store for summery fun and the quality standards that keep them good4u!

Ready to give your menu the warm weather upgrade with more fruits and veggies? It’s a fabulous season for finding culinary inspiration in our organic produce departments. And we’re happy to say there’s never been a June in the history of our company when we didn’t sell ONLY 100% organic produce!

Planning a picnic or a backyard BBQ? Our meat standards are the humane way to omnivore! Our shelves are stocked with regeneratively raised beef and bison, organic sausages and wings, and sustainably certified shrimp—flavor-filled and grill-ready. Don’t forget the cheese, from our 100% pasture-based dairy department, and we also have loads of plant-based selections free of artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, or partially hydrogenated fats. That’s true of our chips and buns too, because it’s the standard for all the food we sell.

Will this month find you at the lake, the beach, or pitching a tent in the woods? Don’t forget bug and sun protection! We’re proud to say that all our sunscreen is mineral based, so you can easily select one that is safer for reefs and other waterways, and our insect repellents are DEET-free. We also have biodegradable and plastic-packaging-free soaps and shampoos begging to be packed for the season’s first camping trip. And don’t forget your reusable water bottle!

We can confidently say that the products on our shelves are always chosen with the interests of healthy families, animals, and the planet in mind. Without our standards we don’t have a reason for being—we’d be just like every other grocery store, and that’s not how our Mama raised us! May we all enjoy the many lovely details of this season, whether it’s more balmy evenings spent on the back porch or a long-anticipated vacation. Because “It was June, and the world smelled of roses.” –Maud Hart
